@DanSmigrod

Have already done it, and have instituted a service fee for cc payment.

This is one of the advantages of not publishing an official price list!

Ho-Ho-Ho!

Yes, probably around 10% for most services.

I last raised my pricing in Jan 2020. Lost many clients due to it. I've thought about raising it just a tad bit (not much) for 2022 to make up for rising costs of living.

Yes! Adding to price. I just need to remember how to do it on my website. LOL

Has anyone ran a price comparison against the large photo companies in your area such as Virtuance, Planomatic, REX, Homesnappers or Quickpictours to see how your new pricing will compare with the big boys? If so, are you seeing these companies making some rate hikes?

@Chemistrydoc

I rarely shoot these days. Thankfully, I make a living running the We Get Around Network.

If I was still shooting, I would likely do the following:

1. no price increase for existing clients (private pricing)
2. price increase for new clients (public pricing)
3. not charge a free for credit card payments

Did you increase your pricing for existing clients?

And, why do you card a fee for credit card transactions? Doesn't that help you get paid faster and for larger amounts?

Happy holidays,

Dan

@coulee360

How about keeping pricing the same for existing clients and charging more to new clients?

@VTLV

Great idea seeing what the national companies – in your market - charge.

Hi All,

@DanSmigrod

The changes that I've implemented in pricing have indeed been "smart" changes - i.e. different levels for different clients. The increase absorbs the credit card fee, since everyone now pays that way.

I've instituted price increases to cover additional costs. As much money as local realtors are making, they hardly notice.

@Chemistrydoc

Glad to hear that you increased your pricing (that includes the cost of credit card fees).

Happy holidays,

Dan

I'm not raising my prices, but I am raising my minimum. I mostly do large-scale tours with a drone and various 360 cameras and also laser scan to BIM with a BLK. The smaller jobs (like residential laser scans)I started low to entice contractors and architects to try the service, but now that I have repeat customers, I feel like I can raise my minimum and still be competitive.

What if two of them are friends and compare notes? Someone's gonna be mad.
