What Newbie Mistakes Shooting Matterport Lately?

Hi All,

The WGAN Forum Question of the Day for Monday, 8 November 2021:

What newbie mistakes have you made lately shooting Matterport (even though you are no longer a newbie?

This post was inspired by my Matterport shoot Sunday (7 November 2021) where I had to delete 3 scans/re-shoot three scans because I left my shoot notebook in the bedroom in plain sight of the Matterport camera.

Best,

Dan

Well,
Three Scan Dan,
I tend to leave possessions in shot, or forget that I’ve hidden my cases around a corner towards the end of a long day.
I’m sure there are lots of people who never make a mistake, but I’m not one of them!
It is bloody annoying though.

@Gladsmuir

Ha!

I did NOT put my shoot notebook in a draw because it would have been a very long drive back when I realized that I forgot it in the draw.

Best,

Three Scan Dan

The silliest one and it was quite critical was when I plugged my iPad for recharging and when for a lunch break without turning on a power point. When I came back it was on 2% so I had to walk for 4 hours with a heavy power bank hanging on my neck.

And two less critical:
Today I forgot my BLK360 tripod adapter so I had to scan with a scanner sitting on a ground.
Last year I came to do a few tours in a big apartment build and forgot my iPad. I have had to ask my wife to bring it which is always problematic.

It has happened to me a lot. I hide my backpack in a garage/bedroom, then step in it and start scanning and only after that I usually see it. However recently I have decided to use kitchen cabinets for putting all my things in and it solves this problem.
