Video: How to convert a 2D floor plan into a Matterport Tour via AR | Video courtesy of ViewAR Augmented Reality YouTube Channel | 16 August 2021

Hi All,

Imagine a 2D floor plan printed on a business card or brochure as a target that can trigger a Matterport tour in Augmented Reality. This video demos this example.

Your thoughts on how you might use this AR tech?

Best,

Dan

Imagine placing either the Matterport floor plan view - or a Matterport 2D schematic floor plan - and using that as a "target" to launch the Augmented Reality (AR) experience: looking at a Matterport tour "floating" above the business card.

If you did this on your business card – with your client's model – they likely would never toss your business card because they want to show other the "magic"

In the real world - I could imagine just as you can now scan a QR code with the iPhone camera and it will launch the QR code, imagine scanning an object and if there is AR content available, it will launch the AR experience.

Does that help?

@Harrycayman

It's a pretty cool party trick.

It may be worth placing a sticker on the back of your business card with a Matterport tour of the client whom you give your card (so that it is THEIR Matterport tour that launches).

I could imagine that the WGAN Community will have more uses cases inspired by this video.
