Cloud storage recommendations?15295

Hey everyone, do any of you have any recommendations for cloud storage? Between multiple iCloud accounts, gdrive storage and Dropbox, and numerous 4TB external drives, I would like to simplify and see if anyone has a good method for long term cloud storage that would reduce the need for all of this storage in different places. I think we need 10TB-20TB, let me know if anyone has ideas for small businesses on this subject. I am admittedly unfamiliar with AWS as cloud storage but maybe that’s an option. How do other photographers manage all of their data? We also live in a wildfire prone area so I’m currently keeping everything on cloud storage and also backing up hard drives with backblaze regularly, but other (smarter?) solutions welcome. | ||

My team is small but we are working with more than 20 devices and workstations and we are currently using Dropbox. Dropbox has a wonderful set of tools integrated (transfer, password, paper, etc.) and is offering unlimited online storage from 45 EUR per month (3 members on enterprise plan). With larger teams you can also think about setting up your own cloud system with e.g. Owncloud or Nextcloud but then you will need a backup like AWS or you choose physical backup and carry discs or tapes to another physical location. |

Hey! Danke! I went to the Apple store today and talked to the guy who is also a photographer and they showed me this…I am thinking about getting this configured for my storage, but yes, I love Dropbox but I need to optimize it |

A NAS (network attached storage) is a good idea, but you will have to spend a lot of money on the storage and the management of such a device. And maybe also keep in mind, that a NAS is not (yet) a cloud solution. You can access these files from the office network, but not from other locations and probably not from any device. Furthermore you will loose all the data, if you loose the device (from fire or damage or robbery). If you want to keep the data, you need to double the storage devices and do regular backups. I made the same calculation for my team and ended up with Dropbox . |
