Connected 2nd floor with elevator14957

I finally did it.
I connected two floors with the elevator, check it out.
I only got it to connect with the 1st and 2nd floor not the lower lever.

@DouglasMeyers

I am confused.

When I "step into" the elevator on the kitchen level, I still exit on the kitchen level.

What should happen?

Thanks,

Dan

MMM, you didn't connected those floors through the elevator, the camera recognize the roof and continued the scan in the upper floor. That is my guess.

@DouglasMeyers

I would possibly add a couple mattertags to navigate to the lower level or the 3rd floor from the main floor ~ then from the upper a mattertag to go to the main ditto on the lower level

That is the first multi level home I have seen without stairs

@DouglasMeyers

Does this help?

==> Tip: How to use the "Elevator Button" to go to the next floor ("U" Key)

Best,

Dan

Since I have been trying it many times I can explain.

The idea is to use an elevator inside to try to join two floors. So after you have one floor scanned go into the elevator and scan inside. Then move the elevator to another floor and do another scan inside it making it aligned to the previous scan inside the elevator, then move the second scan inside it to a new floor, step out from the elevator and keep scanning a new floor.

It will only work if there are no close by objects to the elevator doors on both floors. If camera can only see the floor surface in front of it on both floors it will work.

Great job joining it that way but I would add down/up buttons through the direct links(U key) as Dan suggests above. As it is it will be confusing as being inside you do not move down/up you are kind of stuck there. The only way to move up/down currently is to switch floors. Here is an example. In your case the tags will be inside the elevator and you can still use the same approach to go to the lowest level and then using button-tags there go up.

@lilnitsch For optimal navigation this is the best solution, but it will load the VT again with a new starting point, not ideal either. The complexity of the house not having stairs makes this the only solution.... yes, you are right!
