Hello! I’m using a Matterport Pro2 and it started to scan broken diagonal lines. Straight lines are good but for some reason diagonal lines come out broken up? Has anyone had this issue or know of anything that can be done beside sending it in for repair? |

This is common. It’s called a parallax. The cause is being too close to rectilinear features like railings. Move the camera further away, and add lots of scan positions. Still, for some users it’s not always able to be fixed.

Are you starting out with the camera pointing at the stairs? Sometimes that helps.

As stated by Axis360Media, this is due to parallax error. The photographic lens on the camera does not remain perfectly centered as the camera spins and it's not a fisheye... For this reason, you will commonly get this issue on staircases or if you scan inside a door jamb. Does your client care? Most people don't notice, but if it is mission critical, there is a simple solution. Use a Ricoh Theta Z1 and rescan this area with it . Quality won't be on par with the Pro2, but the trade off might be worth it. There's no parallax error. |

I would add to that, if you need to order floor plans from Matterport, duplicate the model that includes Ricoh Theta Z1 "scans" and then delete the Ricoh Theta Z1 shot "scans" (because Matterport will not create floor plans that include 360s shot with a 360 1-click camera.
