IVRPA Video: Getting Started with KRPano with Matt Rowell | Video courtesy of IVRPA YouTube Channel | 22 February 2021 From the IVRPA YouTube Channel: IVRPA Webinar Series 2021 KRPano is a versatile and powerful tool for building custom virtual tours implementing 360 photos, 360 videos, gigapixels and even 6DoF content with depth maps. The sky is the limit with what you can do. This webinar will teach you the basics to get you started building custom virtual tours for your clients using KRPano. Getting started with KRPano is for the beginner. No prior experience is required, aside from a basic understanding of panoramic photography. You might also want to have some of your photos prepared in a stitched equirectangular format if you want to follow along using your own images. We'll cover the process of downloading and installing KRPano, how to set it up and test your work, how to build a tour, how to make modifications in settings within the XML to customize the tour, as well as how to deploy the tour to your web host. KRPano is the tool for professionals, that can help you differentiate your tour from all others on this planet. I would be interested to dive more deeply into this, because you can build such great content without any 3rd party platform or tools invovled. I could imagine a semi-automated 360 capture process with professional highres system cameras and affordable mororized panoheads plus ptgui software templates that create a dollhouse with everpano or even from a pointcloud with metashape. A process like this could open up so many more use cases than the completely open and "hackable" Matterport platform. |
