Hello, Glad to be approved! Last year I said "yes" to my inner urge to get my photography and video skills polished and hang out my shingle. I started with drone real estate and quickly became fascinated with 360 tech. Just recently I got turned on to Matterport and recognize the GIANT Matterport wave that is hitting right now. So, I borrowed money and have invested in the Pro2. I haven't shot my first tour yet (I have with my DSLR and 360 Onex) but can't wait to dive into Matterport! I found some of your very helpful tutorials on YouTube. My first gig is going to be a freebie for my church. A rehabbed old church with a separate community building next door. Hoping I can connect the two. I've read all about doing scans at sunset, just a few feet apart, etc. Happy to be here! Todd |

Hello, Thank you for the approval into your group. I have been a commercial TV producer for the last 35+ years. I hail originally from the Midwest and moved to Los Angeles in 1998. My better half is a real estate agent in LA and after looking over her shoulder for a few years, I have noticed all of the innovations that have occurred in presenting homes to the public. The one that got the most of my attention was the Matterport 3D technology. We have seen a smattering of it in motion but it comes and goes. I'm about to take the plunge along with my son to see if we can start a business together. Hopefully, the technology will not be too daunting for this old silverback. Thanks again, Peter |

Hi. My name is Martin, I live on an Island off the south coast of the UK "Isle of Wight". I have lived all over the world and now come back to where I was born, I work for global software companies and normally spend most of my time working from home or traveling to see delivery partners. I would love to give it all up and work for myself from home rather than the corporate machines, I have loved photography and now the digital side for over 40 years. I have spent 6 months looking at virtual tours, cameras etc, I am still not decided on a specific platform as they all have their plus and minuses, but camera wise its likely to be a Z1. |

HI. My name is David Ritchie. I run a boutique SEO agency called Canberra Expert SEO in Canberra, Australia. As part of my offerings to clients, I use 360 photographs to enhance their Google My Business listings and Street View. I found the WGAN site through Ben Claremont's Video 360 course and Virtual Tour Pro course. I am a Trusted Street View photographer (woo!) and simply want to grow my skills in the 360 area. I started with a Insta One X and recently purchased a Theta Z1 so I can do better shots and attract higher end clients. |

Hello all. My name is Joel Bolton. I began shooting virtual tours for real estate in late 2001 (old iPix days with Nikon 995 and Nikon FE-C8 183 degree lens) for a large real estate firm in Vermont, USA. When the 995 got retired about 2005, I invested in a DSLR (1st was a Pentax w 12-24mm lens, then moved to Canon), started my solo photography business and began shooting, stitching, and building 360 tours for real estate and commercial properties. I have also done quite a number of Google Street View business tour shoots starting back when Google only approved pro photographers for the program up until things changed when one-shot 360 cameras were permitted. More recently I've been shooting panos for pleasure, including gigapixel panos. I own and have experience using robotic heads to shoot panos. More recently I've been messing with a couple 360 one-shot cameras (Insta 360 One X and Theta Z1) and getting my hands dirty with the 3DVista tour software platform. A few years ago I stepped away from pro virtual tour shooting to do some consulting with a small software company developing image enhancement software. That stint has now ended and I find myself once again contemplating re-launching a virtual tour business. I look forward to learning from you all, and greatly appreciate the forum (and all the great interviews) that Dan has so generously curated here. | ||

Hello, I decided that weddings and portraits were not for me. So earlier this year I switched over to real estate and got some wider lenses. I am in the Washington D.C. area and like most of the world, hard to get any practice in people's homes when there is so much social distancing practiced. I have a Matterport account and have messed around with it using my iPhone 11 Pro, but I have a Z1 on the way. I also purchased 3DVista, but struggling to get started with it because it's not as intuitive as Matterport and doesn't seem to have the step-by-step instruction either. Once my Z1 arrives I will practice with it more. I joined this site because it seems filled with active knowledgable people as well as noobs like myself. Kindest regards, Jon |

Hello everyone. I am Dorian, a software developer from Albania. Our company is based in Tirana, Albania. Matterport technology got my attention since November 2019. I researched it a lot but couldn’t decide to go for it until the COVID-19 lockdown where I saw a increasing demand for tech solutions. During this time, here in Albania all tech companies were making offers to develope e-comerce websites for different markets. I just thought it was the right moment to bring something new on the local market. Early this month I recieved my new Matterport Pro2 Camera and have tested it in-house, and I really got surprised for its quality. I have just finished my first project and contracted 4 others. Also a major project (which I am concerned about it’s large size) is waiting to be signed. I have learned a lot from thif wonderful forum, but I am still cofused about the Pricing Standards. Also something I need help is that I need to access the Sample Forms Library requires password. If anyone can help me how to get it I would be very thankful. Here is my first ever project for a showroom: ... Thank you again & I like this community. |
