Welcome to ‘The Virtual House of Italian Dreams’, a technology / art mash-up between a 3D scan and 360 degree images. We transformed a residential 3D model into an abstract experience of walking through space without leaving home. Get lost in our virtual house and discover beautiful Italian landmarks captured by professional panoramic photographer Pietro Madaschi (http://360visio.com). Special thanks to our VR specialist María Sánchez Isaza. |

@Tosolini Bellissima! it! Brings back so many nice memories visiting Italy on different occasions. It's always amazing how Tosolini Productions mashes up various 3D/360 solutions in unexpected (and delightful) ways. Thanks for always sharing these mashups with the WGAN Community. You are a master storyteller with emerging media! Best, Dan |

@Tosolini Wow, this is super creative I would love to have some guidance on this effect The 360 photos look like they are taken with a DSLR? |

Thanks @Lambda_Photography The photos were professionally taken using a DSLR or similar camera by Italian photographer Pietro Madaschi. He selected for me 10 images. I used a platform called http://geocv.com to first scan a space, then replace the original panos of the house with the new images. In the process, we added some graphic overlays to indicate where to click to move to the next photo. GeoCV did the reprocessing and mapped the walls of the house with textures extracted from the images. The 3D geometry of the house didn't change, making it of an interesting doll house view. |
