Hi to all, I recently called Matterport to ask about the future of Pro 1, since they are scaling back the repairs available. We had been discussing reasons to buy the Pro 2 vs keeping Pro 1, and the representative hinted that at some point they would just stop supporting the Pro 1 camera at all.. I'm paraphrasing, but he said "there's no announcement yet about eliminating support for Pro 1 camera" but that made me wonder if and when there might be. Whatever about repairs, is it possible that Matterport will just render Pro 1 cameras useless, dumping them from the device "ecosystem"? Could they legally do that? I was hoping that if I bought a Pro 2, that my Pro 1 would be a 2nd camera / back up camera, or that I could sell it, but now it seems that I may be just being forced to buy another camera. It does seem that Pro 1 cameras have value & are still changing hands on Dan's forum, & ebay etc, so may be there's something I don't know about? Would love to hear any opinions on it, thanks |

Well, I guess, that there is a Pro3 on the horizon. And I also think, that this Pro3 camera will only work with new hosting contracts (not classic plans). Therefore I would not make a bet on the Pro1 anymore. I still have my Pro1 as a backup, but to be honest, I have never used it anymore. Actually I should sell it. |

I don't see the pro 1 as completely useless, the camera isn't really outdated by any means. I'm sure Matterport would love to finagle a way to get us all off of classic plans. Sort of surprised Matterport hasn't reached out to repair companies to be exclusive or certified repair specialists for Pro 1 cameras. Probably due to the Pro 2 being almost the same camera.

@VTLV, agreed, the Pro 1 camera is is still a great camera, mine has served me well and still producing great results that my clients are happy with. It's just a bit unclear from Matterport as to whether they will continue to support it for the long term, it would be nice if they provided more clarity on that |

@Noddy This WGAN Forum discussion may add clarity regarding Matterport support of Pro1 Camera: ✓ Limited Matterport Pro1 Repairs after 31 January 2021 I fully expect Matterport Pro1 camera to be able to continue to publish to Matterport. The only issue will be getting it fixed, if it breaks. @MatterFix will likely be able to fill a gap in potential Matterport camera repair service. I will ask MatterFix Founder Mike Vorce about Pro1 repairs on this upcoming WGAN-TV Live at 5 show on Wednesday, 11 November 2020: ✓ WGAN-TV Live at 5: Top 10 Matterport Pro1, Pro2 & Pro2 Lite Camera Repairs Dan |

@MeshImages IMO no Pro3 on the horizon if you think of something in the next 6-8 month.
