The Keyes Family of Companies and Matterport Partner to Offer Realtors® 3D Virtual Tours for Every Listing to Accelerate Business

Over 3,500 Keyes Family of Companies' Associates Can Now Easily Incorporate Immersive 3D Tours to Extend Reach and Sell Faster

SUNNYVALE, Calif. and MIAMI, Fla., Aug. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The Keyes Family of Companies, Florida's top independent brokerage, and Matterport, the market leader in 3D capture and spatial data, today announced a partnership that enables over 3,500 of its real estate Associates in South Florida to easily add a Matterport 3D virtual tour to their listings. Associates can now help sellers extend their reach and enable prospective buyers to walk through the property from anywhere in the world.

"Matterport 3D virtual tours give our customers the confidence they need to make one of the most important decisions they will ever make," said Mike Pappas, President and CEO of The Keyes Family of Companies. "The richness of detail and information available in these 3D tours gives buyers assurance in their choice. Sellers appreciate the competitive edge virtual tours provide and the reduction of in-person walkthroughs of their home."

For almost a century, The Keyes Company has been known for its deep expertise of local neighborhoods and empowering its Associates with the latest tools and technology to deliver an unparalleled customer experience. Now, Keyes Associates have two ways to add Matterport 3D property viewings to every listing and access them from a centralized Matterport Cloud account. With Matterport Capture Services, Associates can quickly and easily schedule 3D property scans with a local Matterport Capture Technician™ skilled in using the Matterport Pro 2 camera. Or, they can choose to capture the properties themselves with the Pro2 camera, compatible 360 cameras or iPhones.

"Both buyers and sellers demand an experience that allows them to explore homes conveniently, comprehensively and safely," said RJ Pittman, CEO of Matterport. "Matterport is excited to empower The Keyes Family of Companies with multiple ways to easily and effectively showcase properties to a world of buyers, while delivering the best virtual property experience to their customers. It will give Keyes a strong competitive edge in winning more customers as they look to differentiate themselves even further."

Matterport's immersive 3D tours function as a 24/7 open house accessible from anywhere, anytime, on any device. With a single scan, the Matterport platform automatically generates its industry-leading virtual property viewing, 4K print-quality photos, schematic floor plans, as well as guided and video tours. All of these rich, visual assets can easily be added to websites; within listings and emails; or on social media channels, exponentially growing the number of prospects that can be reached and engaged. In fact, a commissioned study showed that the average listing with a 3D tour sold for up to 9% higher and closed up to 31% faster.

Here is my analysis if I were an agent

Matterport Scan Service: $300 => Mediocre 2D photos (but no exterior shots), Great 3D tours, 2D floor plans

Photographers + Asteroom: 300 => Great 2D photos, Good 3D tours with dollhouse, 2D floor plans

I'd still go with professional photographers

Dear @EricTsai,

Here is my analysis:

Matterport scan service:

- 2D photos can be really good as you don't know who has done them, many brokers ask for professional photographers to take 2D shots. So you cannot compare

- 3D scans very good AND assembled TOTALLY AUTOMATICALLY so 100% chance to have them within 12h.

- very good 2D plans made TOTALLY automatically

Asteroom:

- 2D very good if it's made by professional photographers

- 3D scan good but, look, if only 30% of these 3500 brokers decide to make 3 tours per week, it will be 3150 Tours to assemble per week with your team's little fingers. It's more than 18 tours to assemble per hour! So, Eric, please, your solution is really not bad but if I may, come back on earth and don't honestly pretend you can render more than 3000 tours per week. I think you need to grow up a bit and when you will have a (huge) army of people doing the assembly for you, then you will be able to make the comparison. But I would be surprise to see the profitability growing up as much as you get more manpower. Your solution is not scalable nation wise (you said you are focus on US)...

- 2D plans good but need to be done in 2 steps. First the assembly, then the user needs to order a second time for the floor plan.

I think the professional photographers here should think twice about Asteroom service. The ironic part of the story is the more tours Asteroom gets the more struggle it will generate in term of rendering process.

To date, Not even one company SaaS in the world has succeeded doing the service by hand. So why Asteroom could square the circle?

One more time, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against your solution which is good by the way. But I have a real problem with your economical and industrial model to make your company at the same level as Matterport and even more problem when you want thousands of people ordering Tours when you have absolutely not possibility to absord this peak of traffic and will only make people disappointed and loosing face in front of their clients.
And by the way, I wish someone as wise as Dan should not see only the money he receives from Asteroom but continues to advise the WGAN community wisely and not oriented by the sponsors.

One more time, like any of my previous and future posts, I am ready to be challenged with facts and numbers if what I said is wrong or innacurate.

Thanks

@EricTsai

Just to clarify to avoid you will get high blood pressure for no reason.

I just realized I wrote: "I think you need to grow up...".

The you was a generic you here, of course. It's not "you" personally but "you" as company.
Age, sexe, race, origin, religion, or whatever who define people doesn't matter at all here. Only the ability to make a good offer that can be scalable and could meet a marketing audience matters here.

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback again @priche

By the way - Matterport’s 2D floor plan takes 48 hours to be produced, regardless 100% automation or not

This is stated on their website

Dear @EricTsai,

So, is that the only thing you want to say about this topic?

Are you able to handle 18 tours per hours 24/7? It's surely not that easy and I'm sure you can't.
But, I repeat again and again, it's not a fault nor a weakness, it's normal, no one can do it manually. Only fully computerized process can handle it. It's that simple.

What is the really issue here is that you cannot propose your services if you cannot handle them without telling clearly the people that you have limits and constraints that need to be disclose to your clients before they pay for it.
That is called fairness in business, especially when you say you are on the side of the professional photographers. It's your duty!

You know, I read a lot on that group and it is most of the time very interesting as it's full of testimonials and return of experiences which is what the WGAN community has signed for.

But, I felt really uncomfortable about Asteroom and you Eric trying to push your services (which is normal) with claims about your services and performance that are clearly not true. That is the point.

@DanSmigrod why are you not trying to clarify all of this? Honestly, it makes me asking you if your mind went a bit complacent after the money you received from Asteroom to sponsor you? I hope you would admit that is what many people would think about this issue.

First, Asteroom said they are producing assembly automatically, and Eric admitted it's not. Then we got the story about the so-called Assisted AI ;-) Seriously?
And know, Eric is trying to explain us that those 3500 brokers should go with his company while, and I think it's clearly demonstrated, Asteroom couldn't handle this quantity of Tours assembly, not even close.

So, what is the catch here? Please @DanSmigrod explains to me as I get more and more suspicious about what you try to bring on the WGAN group regarding Asteroom?
You got a lot of money to sponsor this group, then is that the price to let people say something that is not true and lead us to something which is not fair?

You tell me Asteroom is great, ok, I got it and I agree. You tell me you got nice promotions for the WGAN community, ok, fine, well done. You tell us it's THE alternative to Matterport without any restriction or warning or disclaimer about the ability for Asteroom to make the job? Then, here is the problem, Asteroom is not able to handle the job for large quantity of Tours and Eric knows it.
So why not saying it clearly? Asteroom is a startup, a small one, they didn't get much funding, which happens, and they need to work hard to become more mature services and platform, and that is the fate of 99.99999999999999% of the startups. No need to make them the Messiah when it's not the case.

Is the WGAN community is ok with the facts/services of Asteroom promoted here are not really what they claim to be?

Sorry Dan but seeing you not trying to clean up that situation makes me uncomfortable about WGAN... And it doesn't look/sound like Dan, it's sound like someone else to me...

Thank for your reply.

Wow.. @priche is not a fan of Asteroom apparently. You said “not what they claim to be” did Asteroom not deliver to your satisfaction personally?
As for @DanSmigrod, I am very thankful for the global support network and discussion board you have created. If a new service like Asteroom wants to sponsor this forum, wonderful. Let them promote their product and allow service providers to choose the solution that best fits their needs. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
