Hello everyone This is a Mega project, still researching... Is the BLK360 the best option for scanning a Natural Gas Power Plant? I'm looking for explosion proof scanner and/or Intrinsically Safe. Thanks |

@tresdepro, I have some experience with explosion proof standards, from the coal mining safety engineering world.. I think it will be a rare thing to find an ATEX approved, I.S. certified 3D scanner, as the process is very expensive and requires redesign from the component level up (not something that can generally be achieved by retro-modifications to a device). That said, I did find this one ATEX approved scanner after a google search: https://www.zf-laser.com/Z-F-IMAGER-R-5006EX.3d_laserscanner2.0.html?&L=1 Possibly it could be rented? The BLK 360 is either designed to be ATEX approved (Europe)/ Intrinsically safe, or not, I would just call them and ask if any approvals are in process, or if they are coming out with a special I.S. version? It's such a specialized market, few manufacturers will have the resources to offer that, but some will. Best of luck with the project |
