Today the tech site Geekwire picked up the following story: https://www.geekwire.com/2020/whats-really-happening-seattles-protest-zone-photographer-creates-360-degree-immersive-tour/ Seattle has had its share of Black Lives Matter protests, and an entire neighborhood has been occupied by demonstrators. I wanted to witness by myself what was going on, so I decided to do a 360 report using my Theta Z1. Without doing any photo retouch, I uploaded the images onto http://seekbeak.com and created a quick highlight reel. The amount of shares / responses that this immersive tour is getting is quite high, which makes me think that this medium is still underutilized in digital journalism. I also captured a graffiti wall using the Display.land app. https://www.display.land/s/4u4DtVhxT9TnikYU5IWBq4 In anticipation of @dansmigrod question :-) here is what I'd do differently next time: - A little post-production to enhance the brightness of some photos (I need to find a tool that does that without messing the GPS EXIF data) - Capturing some ambient audio wand make it part of the tour |

This seems so obvious but I never thought of it! I always think of 360 as recreational, real estate, or entertainment. But journalism and documentary! Wow, it's an untapped arena which is a natural fit. Thank you for sharing this! What phone are you using for Display.land capture? Congratulations, @Tosolini! |

@Tosolini Thank you for sharing this amazing experience. It looks more like a weekend street festival that the pictures on television. And, yes, thanks for the production notes and platforms used. Best, Dan |
