MPembed Video Auto Start with Tour12204

ahagert private msg quote post Address this user
I know that MPembed allows us to add a video to the highlight reel. Great..... but,

1. is there a way for the video to autoplay during the guided walkthrough, without a user having to actually click on the video on the highlight reel to watch it? I am thinking of a welcome video introducing the home... then the walkthrough continues.

2. is there a way of adding the video on a different spot on the highlight reel other than the beginning?

Thanks,

Matterport 3D Tour displayed within CAPTUR3D (ala Matterport's Showcase)

@ahagert

While not the exact answer to your question, here is:

How to insert a Video "Picture-in-Picture" Style in a Matterport Tour

So, the video intro is front and center and begs to be played.

Then, using MPembed, you could have audio hotspots so that as you "walk" over a scan, it plays audio.

Does that help?

Dan

P.S. CAPTUR3D and MPembed are seamlessly integrated ...

Thanks Dan! I currently have the exact solution you propose using CAPTUR3D and MPembed.

It still requires the user to click on the video, go back to the tour.

What I am trying to solve for is for a seamless self guided tour- almost like a video.

A seamless tour that a less savy user would just have to click one button, sit back and take it all in.

@ahagert

Can you add this parameter - ?autoplay=1 - to the YouTube video to see if that will enable autoplay?

@DanSmigrod great idea, but it did not work, the tour just froze.

@ahagert

Ugh! Thanks for testing. It was worth a shot.

Hopefully, others will weigh-in with their thoughts.

Dan

P.S. Have you completed this free course? There might be an answer there that I do not recall:

@DanSmigrod Actually it works with CAPTUR3D. I had to setting of the video as mini, but once I set it to "full screen" the youtube video plays first and then it rolls straight onto my walkthrough.

In summary CAPTUR3D makes it possible, by providing the youtube video link and then choosing "full screen". Not sure that MPembed would allow me the same results without CAPTUR3D.

@ahagert

Ah! That's terrific news.

(CAPTUR3D supports MPembed features; if you wanted to add audio hotspots within the tour, for example.)
