Don't know about lenses for cropped sensor bodies, but I'm very fond of my Tokina 16-28mm for my Nikon D750.

Best,
Keith

I use a Sigma 10-20 with a Nikon D7200. I take most indoor shots at 14mm.

@DouglasMeyers Given you have a Nikon 5300, which has a crop sensor of 1.5 (compared to full frame or true 35mm), I would use a 10-24mm, 4.0, variable. This will get you true 15-36mm. No need to spend xtra for Nikon, when you can get a brand new, after-market lens for around $400. I bought mine (for a D5000) from B & H Photo. I’m sure Adorama is equally competitive.

Why not consider the Nikon 10-20 for $280? We shoot Canon and Sony, but this lens looks to be very similar in design/construction to the Canon 10-22, which is a workhorse.
