Hi everyone. I'm using a Insta360 One X for my Matterport tours, however it hasn't be easy due to the wifi range issue. I'm thinking buying the Ricoh Theta Z1 here in Portugal wich is more expensive than in US. I'd like to know, because it's a big investment to me, if in case the lens get scratched, it is possible to replace them? Thanks to all. |

@pguerreiro No I would say not. I would get insurance with it that would cover any damage. I had that happen to me, luckily it was covered by insurance. The insurance company sent it in to be repaired which would be ricoh, and they said it was not repairable.

Just a note one of mine took a dive on some unforgiving concrete. It has a noticeable white nick in the glass. However it works fine with a tiny little rainbow in the bottom right of each pano. It’s totally usable but I may have just got lucky.

If you do not like a wifi range on Insta360 One X you won't like it on a Z1. I have had both a Z1 and a V brand new staying connected only 3m-4m away from a smartphone in a direct line of sight. Behind a tree or covering it with your body and they were disconnecting. Insta360 One X I have bought as used one does not have the same problem. It is not 50 meters but at least it works from 10m or so. As for the lens, my Insta360 One X has come with a lot of marks on one lens however it does not create any problem at all. |
