I just received this email, as a registered Zillow photographer: - - - - - Hello, We are excited to announce the launch of direct video uploads to Zillow listings! On Tuesday May 5th [2020], you will be able to upload videos directly to Active and Off-Market Zillow listings all on your own, without needing to use ExaVault. You will be able to upload from both mobile devices as well as desktops. This feature will also replace the Zillow App Video Walkthroughs. The ability to capture videos using the Zillow app will be discontinued in a few weeks. Here’s the information to know: How will it work? On Tuesday May 5th, you will receive an email with a link to the new direct upload portal page (Which you can then bookmark for future use). You will login using your Zillow account. You will be asked to enter the URL address of the Zillow listing page that you wish to upload a video to. You can then select the video file and begin the upload. As soon as the video has finished uploading, the listing agent will receive an email notification. The listing agent must then login and publish the video to their listing from their Listings page on Zillow.com. What should I do if I am currently offering Zillow App Video Walkthroughs? You can continue to capture videos using your smartphone’s camera, but you will need to use a third-party app or software if you want to edit your videos instead of the Zillow App. Finished videos can then be uploaded to the listing using the new upload portal. How soon will a video appear on the Zillow listing using the new system? After a video finishes uploading, it will take a few minutes before the email notification is sent to the listing agent. As soon as the listing agent receives the email notification, the agent can immediately publish the video to their listing. Why does the listing agent now have to login and publish the video to the listing? We want to give listings agents full control over their listings and the power and responsibility to publish/unpublish videos. Is ExaVault going away? Yes. We understand that this new system will require some time to transition over to. You can continue to upload videos to ExaVault until May 12th. After May 12th, videos will no longer be accepted to ExaVault. What if the property is Off-Market? If a home is Off-Market you can still upload the video to the Off-Market listing. When the listing goes up for sale on Zillow the listing agent will need to click on their Listings page, and can then find and publish the video to their listing. Will the video guidelines remain the same? Yes, the video guidelines will remain the same as before. You can review Zillow’s guidelines for videos here: https://www.zillow.com/info/video-walkthrough-guidelines/ We want to thank everyone for their understanding and resolve over the last few weeks! You will receive an email on Tuesday, May 5th with instructions and the link to the new direct upload portal page. Please let us know if you have any questions we can answer as your team transitions to this new video upload system. We’re excited to see it launch! All the best, DANIEL MUDGE Photography Account Coordinator Rich Media Experience Growth Team |

@Home3D @lilnitsch Why do you think Zillow is sunsetting Zillow App Video Walkthroughs? Why not offer both ways to upload video? Dan |

Two reasons. First is so they can furlough the labor involved in handling professional (non-Zillow app) videos which have to be "installed" to listings. Second is to further push people to use their 3D Home app instead of video. We should remember that last year when Zillow placed 3D Home in the second window position of listings, they moved the Video window to the very last, bottom position in images section - where almost no one would find it anyway. Translation? "Video is SOoooo 5-minutes-ago" |
