Combining multiple buildings into 1 Matterport space11674

matt4hutch private msg quote post Address this user
We just scanned multiple buildings on a campus and Matterport obviously won't link them into one space. But the client wants an overall demo of all spaces in one slideshow. Please tell me how to merge parts of each show into a master show. I tried a mattertag from one Space to another, but that links to the to the entire Space, not individual slides inside the space. How can I link into and out of specific (shorter) parts of a space so it looks like it's an abbreviated version of each space? I appreciate it.

@matt4hutch

How about duplicating the model on your iPad, eliminating those scan points that you don't want to display, then upload the stripped down model and use that in the Mattertag? Seems like a lot of work, but I can't think of another way around it.

Use deep links in you mattertags. This will link to the exact part of the other byilding you want to go to.

Go to where you want to link to and press u on the keyboard and copy that url and then paste it into you mattertags

@matt4hutch

You can include multiple Matterport 3D Tours in the Show & Tour player by @sherpa_media (Josh Mais). Please see example above.

Got follow-up questions for Josh at @sherpa_media ...?

As an idea, make an image map(HTML term) with an actual area map with all buildings shown on it. Then put on each building a link that leads to a tour for that building. And in each tour put a tag that links back to the area map.

You can even try to use a satellite image of the area from Google maps(with their permission) or make your own drone aerial image and map all tours to it.

I have never tried this exact website but it seems to be able to generate an image map from an area map/satellite/aerial image. https://www.image-map.net/

Or if you have Pano2VR or 3DVista you can load an area map in them create a clickable polygons for each building and put a link on each polygon for a relevant tour. That will help you without generating an image map and you can actually make each building to pop up a bit when a user moves a cursor over each.

I appreciate the help.

I was hoping to use the main building ("Matterport Space" )on campus as the master tour, with it's final slide triggering a link to, and automatically playing, each of the other tours in order (linked from the end of one Space to the beginning of the next Space)as if they were all in the same Space.

Looks like that is not doable. Also, I tried to go into one of the other spaces and capture the URL if the first pano, but it always copied the URL of the "Explore this space" Opening point. Deep URLs capture a point on a pano.

How can I use them to capture the URL of the entire Pano (page)?

I'm a video editor/voiceover guy by vocation, and I'm new to new to Matterport.

I've bought MPembed to expand my tours to include other media.

Thank you,

David

@matt4hutch

Does any of the following help solve the puzzle?

In addition to Show & Tour player ...

Combine Tours/Photos/Video in One Player with Show & Tour

WP3D Models WordPress Plugin and CAPTUR3D platforms enable multiple tours.

For example:

✓ WP3D Models - In this Single Property Website created with WP3D Models, we used two Matterport 3D Tours: main house and barn

✓ CAPTUR3D - In this Single Property Website created with CAPTUR3D, the additional tours live in the "sandwich menu"

Since you are a WGAN Standard Member, you get:

✓ free use of WP3D Models WordPress Plugin
✓ free use of WordPress powered by Ionblade
✓ six free CAPTUR3D property packs
✓ free use of MP/embed Premium Basic via WGAN Rebate

Best,

Dan

Hi @matt4hutch CAPTUR3D allows you to integrate a side Navigation Menu that you can custom label and skip to different scans within 1 tour: https://captur3d.io/?ref=WGAN
