In this demo, we showcase a new feature of Google Earth that allows you to create interactive stories by combining geographical information with slides and external links. When viewed on a mobile device, you can trigger immersive experiences such as 3D virtual tours and Augmented Reality. Tchnologies used in this demo: - Google Earth - Google Earth stories - Matterport - Torch AR - 3D model of Apple I computer courtesy of dnslv on http://sketchfab.com Special thanks to the Living Computers: Museum + Labs in Seattle, WA. |

Google Earth stories allow you to associate an HTML description to each of their pages. I just created a simple link from there that points to the MP tour and loads the AR experience. Simple.

Hello @tosolini and company, I have been doing some tests with Google Earth and I have a question. As far as I know, in order to see a project created with Google Earth we need to have the file downloaded to our PC or to have access to the file granted through a Google account. Is there a way to embed the KML file on a web page so that users can view the project without the need for download or granted access?. Cheers, |

@Pau Good question. It seems possible to create a Google Earth story and make it public without any other requirement or the need to sign in. Here is my project publicly shared in view mode only. Here is an article about embedding a Google Earth experience on a web page. |

...Here is my project publicly shared in view mode only. Yes, by means of a link to the file with public permissions and uploaded to Drive it is possible to view it with a compatible browser. I mean to be able to insert it through an iframe code on a web. I am going to investigate about CesiumJS although according to which technique I get lost. @tosolini or someone from the forum knows the steps or had a tutorial with the process for it, I and surely more members of the forum would be very grateful. Cheers, |

@Tosolini I the Google Earth Fly-in to give perspective regarding the location ... I remember when Google shared this platform - while it was in beta - at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in London. Sweet to see how you used it in the example above. Thanks for sharing with the WGAN Community. Dan |

@dansmigrod Thanks. I see opportunities with Google Earth integration with other tech. @Pau I just did a quick experiment with iFrames myself and no luck. I don't have a clear solution other than exploring Cesium at this point. By the way, here is a PDF document with instructions on Google Earth stories. |

@tosolini ok. I did another experiment by inserting the KML file into Google Maps and then inserting the iframe code into a web page, but the result doesn't convince me. If you want the information click here. |

@pau thanks for the link. It seems that it may work, with the caveat that the KML file will not carry over many metadata that are part of your rich media presentation, but just geographical information. Good to know. Thanks!
