Hey All!

Searching for a Pro 2 option. Need to scan a bunch of meat lockers and freezers that are running at 35 F Degree temps. Matterport says I shouldn't use my Pro 2 in temps lower than 50 F degrees at least for long periods of time. The freezers are 3000 to 6000 sq ft. Does anyone know about any good cameras compatible with the MP sevice plan that can handle low sustained temps? Thanks for your help!!

@3Din360

According to the Ricoh website, the Theta Z1 can be operated in temperatures from O - 40 degrees C. That should have you covered fine. The Z1 can actually be stored at temps down to -20 deg C.

Best,

Keith

The Pro2 will be just fine. Most electronics run better in the cold. You may need to acclimate the camera to the temp because of fogging.

@3Din360 BLK360 , I have shot in 115F in direct sunlight. Yes it starts to overheat just keep a cooler handy or umbrella. It will handle the cold also, just confirm with your Leica agent in your area and ask them for sale data or examples they can supply you. Work flow might be a little longer but the end results and data is worth it. It also gives you much wider coverage than Matterport so you can do less scans and move further between points, this will depend on what your client wants to use the tours for.
