Any way to increase quality for VR?1127

If I wanted to put a room in VR, and its a small area, will the quality of the 3D model increase substantially if I do a lot of scans with small distance between scan spots?

The quality will stay the same. If you do more scans you will get more floor rings but not an increase in quality.

@Dennis_N

Actually, for VR, you want to over-shoot the space - density - to make the mesh better.

The Matterport VR Team also let me know that we should shoot beyond the scan that is used in the VR version.

For example, while you would not stand in the corner of a room because it is weird in VR to be so close to two walls, you still want that scan to:

1. improve the VR experience
2. improve the dollhouse view
3. improve the floor plan view

(Disabled scans are still used in dollhouse and floor plan views.)

Best,

Dan
