Hi All,

For Matterport Service Providers, a "must read" post on the Photography for Real Estate (PFRE) website.

✓ PFRE (18 March 2020) Is Zillow Entering the Field as a Direct Competitor?

Your thoughts?

I have already seen this in my market agents opting for a Zillow tour over Matterport due to pricing & time on site

In Los Angeles I never get asked about doing a Zillow "3D Home" tour or video anymore. The boost they reward listings with for doing these is meaningless and the video or tour looks awful compared to other platforms.

What I really don't understand is why the MLS's nationwide don't all get together and cease releasing listings, photos and data to the aggregators entirely. Yeah, I get it. If Coldwell does this, it means their listings would disappear while Compass' would remain. But if they all, at the MLS level, stopped "sharing" data with aggregators, the MLS would return to being what it once was - a valuable asset to licensed agents and brokerages.

The MLSs created the monster when they 'shared' this data with fledgling aggregators years ago. Now they need to starve the monster to death.
