| Government in Australia told to shut down all non-essential services and businesses since yesterday [23 March 2020] 12 noon. Now almost everything is closed, and dining places are only allowed to sell take away. Schools still open but I think they just trying to drag it till school holidays which are in 2 weeks. I have been in Brisbane CBD today on a scanning job. Streets are empty with only few people around and not so many cars. And that is usually a very crowded space on any day/time. And our community has started reacting to any social gathering like they have gathered together to kill someone. Yesterday somebody posted a picture of a group of our local cricket club celebrating the end of the season near their shed on a sports oval. In seconds there were so many negative comments about this group that mods had to turn off comments. |

Otherwise, home showings are restricted by the "Stay Home" order. Listing brokers have until the night of Wednesday, March 25 to develop a virtual tour of listed properties." "Because the "Stay Home" order does not take effect until the night of Wednesday, March 25, buyers have until that time to conduct home inspections. Once the order goes into effect, there is no obvious allowance for home inspections while the order is in effect. Based on the "Stay Home" order, home inspections will likely be suspended for the duration of the order. This issue creates a good reason for brokers to discuss with clients, the benefits of including a Form 22FM (Force Majeure Addendum) in a purchase agreement. COVID-19 and Work Update Dear Members, I have just received word from our legal counsel that Governor Little just issued a statewide "stop work, shut down" order for 21 days due to the coronavirus in efforts to help stop the spread of the virus. While most of our members can continue to conduct business from homes, there are those of you who may not. I removed some of the local MLS info as it wasn't relevant. | The same day I posted my post here there was our PM addressing Australians on TV. we were told only leave houses if it is essential(grocery shopping, pharmacy or going to work). Schools in Queensland are till open but as our PM explained some people(hostitals, aged care, infrastructure) they need to be able to get to work. If we close schools these people would have to be staying home with their kids and it may affect all people who need help now. It does make sense even though the government could provide a special day care to them so we could stop spreading it htrough schools. REAs have been banned from running open houses but nobody is chasing us Matterport providers. All my jobs now either for big real estate groups or for the REA principals I personally know. Some real estate agents are trying to teach others how to do 360 photos with a GoPro Fusion. When I mentioned that's just amatuer and REA needs pros with commercial cameras he said to me he is fine doing it its own way. My Facebook ads started running again yesterday, people coming to my website but nobody has every submitted any request. Some of them may have called my number on my ads but I am forgetting to ask these clients how they have found me. My colleagues from other australian states(mostly from Sydney and Melbourne) calling me and asking for help to scan for their Brisbane clients. They have been booked completelly but they are huge marketing groups that sell their services to REAs. Probably they are just including Matterport into their packages now and since they have existing clients who trusts them they order tours from them in big numbers. |
