Screen Grab courtesy of VECNOS Hi All, WIRED (9 March 2020) Ricoh's New Spin-Out Company Brings 360 Cameras Into Focus While this announced - but not yet shipping - 360º camera is for Gen Z and millennial content creators for social sharing of experiences (rather than residential and commercial real estate photographers), any 360º camera that helps boost awareness and interest in 3D/360º tours is a good thing. The yet-to-be-named 360º camera from Vecnos - a subsidiary of Ricoh (that makes the Ricoh Theta Z1 and Ricoh Theta V). I wonder if references to Men in Black is intentional. I could imagine that the launch of this social sharing 360º camera will speed-up Instagam natively supporting 360º photos and 360º video, as Facebook does now. Let's hope this 360º camera helps 3D/360 virtual tours go mainstream. Your thoughts? Best, Dan |
