Matterport Scanning inside a car10214

Hello friends and colleagues, I'm planning to make a 3D Virtual tour for an important car dealer. I'm wondering if there is anyone that can suggest a versatile tripod for placing the Matterport camera inside a car, or any other technique that allows a fast setup in any car regardless its size.
Thank you in advance for anyone available to share its experience.
Marcello

I believe I did this with a thetaV while in beta while waiting on my brother for a meeting ~ the Z1 would provide higher quality imagery. the smaller 360 cameras are going to be easier to maneuver & place in a car where a Matterport pro camera is going to be a bit bulky. I shot this with a cheap selfi-stick ~ I now have a more expensive monopod that would have been a bit better for use on the interior of the vehicle.

* I would NOT consider using the Insta360 One X as the noise is atrocious within the Matterport ecosystem

I am currently using the iFootage Cobra 2 for a monopod w/my Z1 in the Matterport ecosystem when the Pro2 doesn't fit or for bright sunlight on exteriors shoots

While not Automotive this will give you an idea of quality differences between the cameras best viewed on a desktop or laptop (not a mobile device) ~ you should be able to pretty much seamlessly shoot a tour w/a Z1 and a Matterport Pro 1 or 2 without the end user really being able to tell which camera was used unless there is a reflection or shadow

A Matterport Camera is a wrong tool for small spaces. You will experience huge stitching errors in your images as the camera does not rotate around its nodal point. A better solution is using a Ricoh Z1, but the quality will be reduced. The best solution is a dedicated DSLR with a tripod like clickable text

@lilnitsch
with the Z1 for outdoors, can you do 3D scans , or do you have to take 360 and then convert ?
If yes, can you mix the use of MP Pro 2 for indoor and Z1 for outdoors in the same models ?

@WayanMatt when using the Z1 (or any of the 360 cams) the capture app automatically creates the 3D scan rather than having to scan then convert. And, yes you can switch back and forth between cameras within the same model you simply just change which camera you’re connected to.

thanks for the example,
well the Z1 is doing a great job for the outdoors
and it also makes the job fo the dollhouse, this is gret.
Thanks a lot, as on my market all. villas are opened to outdoors (tropical climate)
so here is the best solution to void losing time with only the pro2

really helpful
thanks a lot
