WGAN-TV Short Story | UK-based Matterport Vice President James Morris-Manuel at the 2019 Google Street View Summit on EMEA and New Verticals (Wednesday, 25 September 2019) Hi All, "Matterport is the industry leader for residential real estate and a very big percentage of our business is in that market," said UK-based Matterport Vice President James Morris-Manuel at the 2019 Google Street View Summit in a WGAN-TV interview. "... we're also moving into travel and hospitality, architecture, engineering, construction, insurance, and a number of other verticals because the application of Matterport is so broad, essentially any physical assets can be copied and we can make a digital twin and that can be represented online." [Note: All 2019 Google Street View news coverage will be tagged: GSV19 | More news coming through Friday, 4 October 2019] Best, Dan Transcript of WGAN-TV Interview (Above) Hi, I'm James Morris-Manuel. I'm the VP for Europe, Middle East, and Africa for Matterport. And just wanted to talk a little bit about some of the things that we're focusing on in EMEA at the moment. So few different core focuses. Obviously, one is geographic expansion. At the moment we sell into four core territories. The first is the United Kingdom and English-speaking Europe, so some of Northern Europe. The second is France and the French-speaking Western Europe. The third is the DAC territory, so Germany, Austria, Switzerland and some of Eastern Europe, and the last is a Southern Europe, so Spain, Italy, Portugal, are the four core markets that we sell into. So that's the geographic expansion that we're looking at. And then the other piece is the segment development or the new verticals that we're going into. So as everybody knows, Matterport is the industry leader for residential real estate and a very big percentage of our business is in that market. But we're also moving into travel and hospitality, architecture, engineering, construction, insurance, and a number of other verticals because the application of Matterport is so broad, essentially any physical assets can be copied and we can make a digital twin and that can be represented online. Thank you very much. |

as a Matterport User, i consider hard to jump into the travel and Hospitality market due to the limitation of 200 scans offered by Matterport. Let's be clear, if you want to scan a hotel for exemple, this 200 Scans limitations is definitely a problem as a Hotel is most of the time way larger than a private property ! ("you can add a link with another visit" => hard to explain to a Hotel Manager when you speak about walkthrough Experience .. Stitching models ?... oh wait ... not possible anymore ! Matterport speaks a lot about future but never stops to make us step backward. Give ourselves the mean of your ambitions rather than your blabla |

Another limiting factor for the travel and hospitality vertical (and many others) will be Matterports new business model with hosting fees up to roundabout 75 USD per model per year - factory price from Matterport. | ||
