I'm sure this will have been asked before, however I am going to ask it anyway as I am a Newbie. Can anybody tell me if there is a maximum height that a Pro 2 camera can scan ? For instance, what would happen if I tried to capture a church or similar building with very high ceilings? |

Matterport 3D Tour by We Get Around Network Photographer Dan Smigrod @martinyoung50 Matterport scan data is usually good for about 1.5 stories. In this church (above) that I scanned with a Matterport Pro1 3D Camera in March 2015, the dollhouse view looks great. You can amp-up the experience, if necessary, using a super-tall tripod (and likely hide these scans in Matterport Workshop 3.0. Please see this related WGAN Forum discussion: ✓ Question of the Day: Whom has the tallest Tripod (and Why)? If you were shooting an arena, you could create a great dollhouse viewing with Leica GeoSystems BLK360 + Matterport. Please do share your Matterport 3D Tour of the church, once scanned. @martinyoung50 ✓ This one will get you to 24 feet for around $450 incl tax and freight, ✓ And, for about $750, this one will get you to 27.5 feet, I bought a tripod that has an 8 foot footprint, which holds a large 2-1/2" O.D. telescoping mast (2-1/2" base, total 6 sections w/top one at 1", typically used for temporary antenna installations for HAM operators, or other radio uses, which extends to 38 feet for about $450, including tax and freight. This solution is best used by two people. My specific application was to do elevated photography, but avoid the need for a drone. This equipment can be seen at MGS4U.com. |
