Matterport Missing Two Mobile Mapping Scanning Solutions in the AEC Space DanSmigrod 2 2 yearsHarrycayman (439): its tough to compare matterport to other solutions such as Navis, Tribmle, Faro etc. While they are more accurate and could scan faster in bigger spaces the price difference is huge.

Video: How fast can you possibly scan with NavVis VLX?-6,458 SQFT in 6 Min DanSmigrod 7 3 yearsHome3D (4091): Although I’m about 6’ tall, so my eyes are about 5’6”, I shoot Matterport views at about 4’6” because they look best. I hate seeing a highlight reel where the creator had to angle down so the verticals are all skewed, keystoned. This devise might be good though if worn by someone under 4’ tall!
Video: NavVis Reality Capture Solution Use Cases: Construction Verification DanSmigrod 2 3 yearsMeshImages (2993): A great product for high-end AEC projects like hospitals, universities or expensive infrastructure projects like train stations and airports. But for other projects than high-end construction it might be too expensive to maintain this data and involved systems-infrastructure over the life-cycle of the property.
Video: Visual Positioning/Tracking Enables AR Within a 3D Tour (Hint/Magic) DanSmigrod 2 3 yearsAeronautica3D (33): I like this. If I was working on an aircraft, I could walk to the aircraft, go to the position for which I'm working at, and pull up all relevant information(maintenance, etc) to work on it and view the manual either on an ipad or VR. AR would make it easier to get to the information faster. Wendell
Video: Captured Point Cloud with NavVis: Subway Construction Site DanSmigrod 2 3 yearsMeshImages (2993): Impressive tech! But break even might be hard to reach. NavVis will probably need to deliver the clients with the hardware. And it is only B2B or does NavVis also serve B2C use cases like museums and public locations? NavVis' indoor scanning could combine nicely with the skydio drone photogrammetry for outdoor. Would be interesting to create a technical match with these two systems.

NavVis M3 Trolley Indoor Mapping Performance DanSmigrod 5 8 yearsmori (819): Great news. I´m happy you have met Felix in person. Additionally to the trolley you also need a Laptop with Ubuntu for the final processing and a special server (also Ubuntu) for the hosting of the "indoor viewer". Of course NavVis or their Partners can provide a hosting platform.
