Land topographic Model??? Tools and Solutions? DigitalTwin 16 3 yearsEaglePrecision (289): I don't think the topics posted were relevant to the original question by DigitalTwin which was about using topography in CAD and 3D models. Surveying accuracy was not mentioned and is a more complicated topic to address. Survey-level accuracy is achievable with the providers that were previously mentioned: Pix4D, DroneDeploy, etc. but requires a deeper level of understanding of drone mapping and surveying. There are different approaches...

Exterior 3D Scans for Construction DylanWilcox 8 4 yearsjohnwheatley (244): You can get roof or property data for an address with Geomni without taking any shots. I believe they use satellite images. I do not know the price or anything else.

My First GeoCV Experience Convrts 19 6 yearsMikhailBombin (21): I'd like to mention that the map you see on the device is not final, it only represents the basic alignment of panoramas one by one, and no actual alignment of the ones from different parts of the scan. But of course it's done during further processing, so in 100% cases final model would look better and more aligned then the one you see on the phone. Of course it doesn't mean you don't need to check it time to time, not to miss some serious...
Demo and Discussion: GeoCV versus Matterport DanSmigrod 2 6 yearsMetroplex360 (9436): GeoCV is a bit too bright and saturated. Matterport is a bit too dark and undersaturated. Nodal View is yellow and has an old fashioned UI with a strangely placed spinning dollhouse (how did that get there?) There's no perfect one, but between the two 3D tours -- with GeoCV, you have the option to download your imagery. If you wanted to, you could darken the tour a bit and desaturate it and end up with something pretty spot on.
Aerial 3D Models with Drone Deploy for GeoCV Metroplex360 18 6 yearsMetroplex360 (9436): The custom HTML code is great. With Mattertags, you are limited to the vendors provided by Embed.ly. While Embed.ly does have an exhaustive list of providers, few actually solve the problems listed by Anton above. Pins are great!
Pix4D versus DroneDeploy DanSmigrod 6 6 yearsWingman (4345): Pix4d has a capture app that can make an orbiting fly path around a property but it may be better just to do it manually. And to do it manually there is no need in any of these apps. I agree with FunN4Lo these apps and services mostly for 3d mapping with drones and they are not cheap. If somebody still wants to create a 3D model of a property you can try this software https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=81&v=k4NTf0hMjtY ...

GeoCV Beta release - UNLIMITED PLAN, WHITE LABEL, SELF-HOST, OWN COPYRIGHT AntonYakubenko Jump to first page51Jump to last page 6 yearsAntonYakubenko (686): This is TBD, but you can always downgrade if any future plan works best for you. That's actually very interesting. I wonder what we can do together that 200 homes out of 2000 would have a 3D tour, and then 2000 out of 2000? I doubt 3D tours solution price is the barrier, because on such a scale our unlimited plan should be ideal. Why realtors are not ordering more 3D tours? What we can do to change this?
Tip: How to create a 3D aerial fly-in with DroneDeploy and GeoCV DanSmigrod 7 6 yearsAntonYakubenko (686): I doubt it would work. As I described above, shooting for 3D model extraction from aerial images using photogrammetry requires many images all around the house taken with large overlap. I doubt externally sourced imagery would be sufficient. Moreover we require regular images, not 360 panos for 3D model extraction. 360 panos though could be used as Highlights and Fly-through in addition to 3D scan.
3D content DouglasMeyers 3 6 yearsDouglasMeyers (1282): Happy New Year Home 3D... Thanks so much for your help here. Is that a Drone shot and how did you get the 3D part? I use a Mavic Pro. And Is a skachfab link the best way to add it to a Matterport tag? Oh and which app are you using with your structure ? Thanks Douglas
