| Hi All - We have done very little with the AEC market here, and I want to change that. I'm trying to introduce Matterport to architects and builders, and one of the more attractive features is the ability to convert a model into AutoCAD drawings. I have a very small project for which I wish to do this - what are the "nuts and bolts" of doing this conversion? Are there multiple services?? Is there a low-cost provider for a trial job? | In most cases this work is done by simply tracing over point clouds. There are many advantages of using the point cloud over the OBJ or FBX model. You also have to keep in mind making floor plans require a different scan pattern since you are aiming for accuracy and not for visual walktrough. I've done quite a few scans for AEC in the last few months (150K sqft) and I keep learning how to maximize the use of the Matterport for use in engineering projects. | ||
