We have been hired to scan portions of a strip shopping center. The center is mostly vacant and in rough shape. They client is primarily interested in floorplans. There is no electricity, so thank god it is cool now, winter here in Florida. Woohoo! The total square footage is about 32k. Largest space is 14k. Lighting ranges from "not bad" to pretty bad to pitch black. It is pretty dark overall. Fortunately there is white acoustic tile drop ceiling throughout. We are going to use supplemental lighting, including a pair of the LitraTorch 2.0 LEDS mounted pointing forward. We also will have two 20V Dewalt LED flashlights and an LED light panel to bounce off the ceilings. Should be fun. Will post updates as we go. |

So, This went pretty well. It took us about 15 man/hours. I was really impressed with the LitraTorch 2.0. Very nice little lights. We used these as headlights pointing forward. They are magnetic and come with little plates you can tape to the top of the Pro 2. That was cool. They lasted maybe 3 hours or so. To light smaller blackout rooms we used a small 100 LED Flashpoint panel which we sat on top of doors. For the larger dark areas we used 3 Dewalt 20V LED flashlights. (I already had batteries) April Tags? A lifesaver, it would likely not be possible to scan this place without them. Printed a bunch, used them liberally. Floorplans came out great. |
