Hi All, "... reporting for the Matterport User Group Forum at Inman Connect NYC 2016, this is Dan Smigrod" Look for Matterport related news at Inman Connect New York City (Tuesday, 26 January through Friday, 29 January) in this thread. Matterport has a booth at this technology meets real estate trade show. Plus, there is a session called: VR, 360 Video, and the Future of Home Tours 3:25 pm - 3:45 pm EST Tuesday, 26 January 2016 As best as I can tell, Matterport does not have an executive speaking at this conference. Please PM or post, if there is ... By the way, I flew-in to New York City yesterday (21 January 2016) from Atlanta on a beautiful, clear-sky day. Below is my time-lapse video of the NYC skyline as the jet landed at LaGuardia Airport. Good thing I got in early. Hi All, I am standing in a blizzard in New York City - the wind is howling with gusts up to 55 mph. Up to two feet of snow is forecasted in the next 24 hours. It's nuts outside. Actually, I am in my toasty-warm 6 Columbus Circle Hotel room watching the blizzard outside (and on TV): too afraid to cross the street to get to Whole Foods and report back to you about experiencing a nor'easter first-hand. And, instead of breakfast at Whole Foods, I opted for a lovely continental breakfast presented in a bento box at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in the hotel. I am so thankful that the staff showed up for work. All flights into New York City area airports are canceled today. What a mess. The weather is expected to clear in time for the opening of Inman Connect Tuesday, That said, I could imagine many speakers and attendees from around the country simply don't make it in to NYC. While a weather report is not exactly on-topic for the MUG Forum, I recall a story of a reporter returning to his newspaper office and telling his editor that there was no news to report from the City Council meeting. If I want your loyalty, how do I win your trust? What is your value proposition? Why should I engage you? Can you articulate that? How to negotiate those outcomes? What works for you and repeat it. If not, what should you do? How to get trust and loyalty? Are you building rapor? The importance of doing nag what you said you were going to do. What is your personal brand? People like to do business with people that they like and find value. Brokerages are an Eco-system of agents that have very different strengths and weaknesses. |

Agents may not get a call until the buyer has already picked out three homes to see. Much of the decision process is better not made online. The client comes in at "3rd base" and wants help taking it home. (Online visual storytelling is that much more important.) A Broker that uses Matterport told me the buyer spent very little time physically in the house they bought because they had already made a decision to buy vis the 3D Tour. They had already fell in love with the house. The physical walk-through was simply a confirmation.... |
