Can we now add the higher positions shot on drone in 360 or a insta360 X5 on a pole - into the matterport environment now?

@SpencerLasky I am not sure how you are looking to add drone shots but yes you can as a hot spot. If you click on the link this has a aerial 360 embedded in the tour is this what your talking about? |

We are using free kuula account and a Mattertag for it. If you want a tag to float in midair you can just make a tag stem as long as possible and hide the stem in a tag interface. I think Matterport needs to recognise 360 photos in tags so we can just point to them on our hosting or upload them to Matterport as an attachment. However I tried it and it did not work. So kuula seems to be one option that can solve it. |

hum ok I thought since we can pull images out and work them in photoshop - perhaps we can drop in new 360 images positioning them as close as possble - but I hear you on the tags thanks !

Quote:Originally Posted by SpencerLasky When Matterport enabled 360 photos import I played with importing random aerial 360 into the capture app to see what I could get as a mesh after converting them with Cortex. It did work but only to a point where I decided to measure objects in them. It turned out that 20-30 storey buildings processed from the imported aerial 360 were measuring as 2 meters high. It seems that Matterport just does not understand this type of environment and treats every 360 as captured from some type of a ground. My guess if you want to try the same do it only after you capture a ground tour. Without it you may just get what I've got from testing.. some kind of a miniature. If you are not going to process it through cortex and just import it as a view that should not ruin anything with fake sizes. However to include it in your tour you have to place that imported 360 as a 360 view on a mini map or use it as a direct link in a tag. If you place it on minimap you will have to deal with in and out icons generated that for sure wont be pointed to a sky. |

Quote:Originally Posted by DanSmigrod I have done similar but I have used a github online app to get cube faces for the spot where I've captured myself. Cube faces are provided in original resolution and come close to 16K stitched. The app is great but has one problem: you cannot just get one 360 and it gets cube faces for all scan points. In my case it was over 250 and I did not want pull 1500 cube faces and wait for them to be downloaded. I created a copy of a tour by deleting every point apart the one I wanted to edit and processed it with a single point. Then I got cube faces for the 360 I wanted to edit, erased myself in Affinity photo, stitched it back with PTGUI, stored it on my google drive, opened the capture app to get an access to it on my iPad and deleted the point where I could see myself, imported the edited 360 as a scan and processed the tour again. It has turned out great and it could only be seen as edited if you pay close attention. I would not do it to erase my camera in mirrors or reflections unless my client are happy to pay for my time. However it was different and my mistake so as alternative to bother a client of my client again, setting up a space again and me driving to them 40km just for one scan that's different. |
